The stability and prosperity we see is kind of an illusion. Looking at the whole world, the numbers are probably the same as they claimed 160 years ago. Some even say that the terrorist attacks are a mutant form of this revolution and that it is inevitable. Interesting phil 101 stuff that I've completely forgotten.
