Free mosque service

The bonus joy of the UofA Atheists and Agnostics office is that right outside my (wide open) door right now there is a decent sized group of muslims holding a service.

They rolled out their carpets, came back from the preparatory cleanings and sit and listen to the preacher (?).

He bashed Hallowe’en and modern holidays in general as being overly secular, and tries to push a book.

One interesting thing is the readings from the Koran sound more like singing than actual recitations.

People continually drop in over the past 15 minutes – I guess tardiness is allowed in Islam.

I think this is going to be a general trend to my Friday office hours. Hopefully they’re out of here by 2 PM when the rest of the atheists get here to paint our new evangelical atheism poster (we did follow the rules and book the room…)
