Google Maps meet ETS, you two should be friends

Edmonton, eighth place (in Canada) in getting its transit system on google maps!

Now we can finally stop dealing with the slow, pop-uping takeets.com trip planner and rely (almost) solely on Google Maps.

Fellow non-auto commuting Edmontonians breathe a sigh of relief, finally.

Now, if only we had buses/lrt that went anywhere, and late night service.

This might just be the best news I’ve head so far this week.

Interestingly the “transit” function on the google maps app on my iPhone has been working since I got the phone in December. I checked online and saw that google transit still didn’t support Edmonton at that time, they must have enabled the function on the phone early.

Nice. I am tired of ETS opening up a new tab anytime I click anything.

I noticed the availability of the “transit” option on Google Maps a while back (few weeks at least). Maybe they were beta testing then and now it’s “official”? I did notice that it was perfect, it didn’t have the bus routes quite right.
