Suck it Apple, I bought a Zune
On Sunday I bought the 8GB Black Microsoft Zune MP3 player. Today, I returned that one that died and got another one (which had slightly different packaging and is thus far holding up).
The player requires the Zune software to transfer music (although when you close the software it actually goes away, unlike someone else's software). And unfortunately, the Marketplace (MS's answer to the iTunes store) is unavailable outside the US for now. However, by setting your computer's region to US, you can at least access the Marketplace and download the free podcasts that are available (you can't buy points without a US credit card though, unless you eBay them).
So far the player is worth it's $100 price tag, besides the first DOA one that crapped out. It should keep me entertained for at least a little while longer (and especially on long Vancouver commutes that I expect in the fall).

Welcome to the club. I got an 80gb Zune for Christmas and I love it. I think it’s way better than any iPod. The only complaint I have is that the touchpad doesn’t work well.

You sure told Apple where to go. You just lowered the iPod market share by .00000002. What’s even worse, you should have waited for the Zune HD. At least you would have had the latest Zune that nearly nobody wants.

i got my 8gb zune about a year and a half ago, and i haven’t had any problems with it except those i’ve created for myself…dropped it in water…but a few hours later it was fine again.
these things are so much better than stupid ipods.

Hehe, now if only you could find someone else with a Zune to squirt at…
Shame you can’t use that rad Zune wifi for anything more useful like oh, I don’t know – browsing the web, or email, or network gameplay, or google maps, or google Earth or 55,000 other applications… would only have cost an extra hundred smackaroos or so…
Oh well, chin up, at least you socked it to Apple.

Anyone notice how smug some apple users can be? Its as if they aret cool unless they shit on others mp3 players . It’s a device you utilize, you don’t have to let it have so much weight on your personality or perception of who you are! I have both a mac book and a dell desktop an ipod and a zune. They all do the same thing. You are not cool if you have any of these things!
