Zero based budgeting means departments aren’t guaranteed the same budget as the previous year. They would have to show a real need for any projects befirethwir budget is approved. This stops government departments from finding useless projects just to “use their budgets” so they can get the same amount or more the next year.

Also, I’d counterthat the free market hasn’t failed, it’s never really been given a chance.

Firstly, I no longer live in Alberta so I can’t vote for them. Second, they’re still a ridiculously right-wing fringe party that doesn’t represent my values in the least. So no, I’d never vote for them and I’ll campaign hard against them if I ever get the chance. The free market failed, move on.

OK — you think of Ottawa as your Vatican, you like government-protected unions, and you are against choice and big, bad profit in healthcare.

Other than that, are you voting Wildrose Alliance?

Yes there are some stupid and inconsistent policies with the party. So why don’t you park your socialism, and help develop rational policy?
