The day the world didn’t end
The LHC collided particles today!
It’s worth noting that the Earth is still in existence from all experimental evidence.
Of course they haven’t reached new record collisions, but they say by the end of the year they’ll hit upwards of 7 TeV.

Nifty.
I never understood the uproar about this.
It is a large version of what has been done for years.
Reminds me of the school of thought that thought a H-bomb would start an atmospheric chain reaction destroying the earth. This is also know as being plain wrong.
