I think its time has come, not a second too soon, to be a powerfully progressive awakening to address the resurgent fundamentalist power sweeping much of the world – attempting to drag the world back to the intolerance based on ancient ignorance (I speak as an ex-fundamentalist).

This article refers both to singing, meditation and the work of Sam Harris – all of which I happen to experience as amazingly helpful.

I really, really, REALLY hope this movement works, that we don’t mess it up with our own egos and corruption but are straight and honest and tolerant and forgiving with one another when we get it wrong. I’ve come to the conclusion that I can only do my best to be REASONABLE AND OPEN AND HONEST WITH MYSELF and, as part of that, try to be HELPFUL to others and to the world. Humans want/hunger/long for for others who are people of good will (I know I’m paraphrasing that from the Bible, and why not?). We know we have this, here, now. For our sake and for the world’s, let’s enjoy it and promote happiness, kindness in personal life, fairness in politics and the world, fun and friendship and curiosity and enthusiasm and health – mental, physical, intellectual, economic, environmental, social and, yes, spiritual.
