How to leave with style
Despite announcing his plans to step down as leader of the Alberta Liberals, Kevin Taft has taken another opportunity to set himself apart from Ed Stelmach by announcing that he plans to donate the entirety of the raise that was awarded to him by the Conservatives a few months ago.
Taft called a news conference Friday to announce he and his wife, Jeanette Boman, are giving five monthly payments of $1,428 to the Realtors Community Foundation, which supports school lunch programs. They are giving an equal amount of money to the Liberal party.
This is a classy move, and the most honourable thing a politician has done in a while. Hopefully Taft sticks with the Alberta Liberals after he moves out of the drivers seat.
